Our friends are now bathroom skilled and make routine visits to the hallway restroom.  We are developing cooperative skills that help us share and respect others work and space.  We are learning to follow directions with new independence and making choices that are showing  independence in our thinking.  We have some time to develop more writing skills but we are interested in coloring and making marks that will form into letters and numbers.  Zoophonics are fun to do with the teacher as they have taught us the basics of letter sounds and shapes and now we are recognizing those letters in our world around us and we are appplying the sounds and shapes to simple words like D&W or Stop, Go, or Sams.  Our reading world is connecting.  Writing our name is easier as we are understanding the connection to our names sound and the letters that make those sounds.  We still talk about shapes, colors, and the weather.  Miss Val is our Lead Teacher and we have Assistant teachers that help with our day.  Miss Val has a calendar of our activities on the wall along with our schedule we do each day. We are heading for Kindergarten in a year so our progress is notable.  Our next step is 4 year old Preschool to prepare for Kindergarten.  Our friends include 1/2 day preschool children on specified days.
